Looking back on these makes me laugh :) goodness! That was a fun day but I’m blessed to say most EVERYDAY is fun with him :) so blessed he’s my husband and that God blesses us with having fun together.

Last night around midnight this was our conversation (in bed before going to sleep):

Joseph: Hey Kels, will you wake me up when you wake up in the morning?

Me: Yea, sure! Why?

Joseph: so we can hang out.

soo…this morning at 6am, before work, he gets up…and sits at the table with me while I eat my blueberry pancakes he made the morning before :)

Later, he goes to the fridge and gets carrots and ranch.

lol. It was the silliest thing. Even if it doesn’t seem like it?

OH! How I loved this morning :) he was being so goofy. It was a blessing to start my day off with so much laughter.

Thank you, Lord, for my sweet sweet husband!

Christmas Time.

Since moving to Virginia, I have started to work at a plasma donation center.

Everyday they have 150-300 donors who come in and wait an hour or two to give plasma.

Currently, my job is to screen the donors. The screening process consists of taking all the donors vitals- blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, hematocrit levels, and protein levels.

Each screening process I have 4-8 minutes with the donor. Generally I ask them how they’re doing…but since it’s Christmas time i’ve been asking “Are you excited for Christmas?” or “Are you ready for Christmas?”

With no surprise, they usually say “yea, ready for it to come and go!” or “yea, ready for it to be over!”

Then I ask them why that is…and they start telling me how stressed they are with buying presents with the money they don’t have for their kids, family, and friends.

This saddens me so deeply. Why is Christmas, Jesus’ Birthday, the most stressful holiday of the year in America?

Some of the children we were able to feed. We brought a pot of stew and eggs to hundreds of kids like them who live in a charcoal mine where they have no electricity, no water, live in cardboard boxes and makeshift wooden homes where several family members stay. Most of their teeth are rotten out, infections occupy their scalp and knees, their stomachs are bloated from lack of food, and their bodies are covered in dirt, mud, and coal. They live in the worst conditions I’ve ever seen in my life. Pray for these little ones. God, bring Your kingdom here. #11n11

Our neighbor came over today and sat at our kitchen table while Joe and I were making dinner…
We didn’t know our neighbor very well, before today…
Trying to get to know us better, our neighbor asked us how we met.
I didn’t say anything…
Joe told him the story and our neighbor responded with “well that’s awesome!” Joe responded with “yea, it is!”
I turned and looked at him when he said that and he had such a big smile on his face.
So blessed to have a husband who truly loves me and loves our marriage.
Praise God! :)
